It’s finally here! Santa Cruz Pizza Week will unfold across Santa Cruz County on Jan. 29, with the launch of the region’s first Santa Cruz Pizza Week. Inspired by regional pizza-centric celebrations around the United States and Canada, food establishments and media partners are collaborating to introduce a sizzling new tradition to the Central Coast.
Running from Wednesday, Jan. 29, through Sunday, Feb. 9, the event is the Monterey Bay region’s first of its kind, dedicated to celebrating America’s favorite food: pizza. Dozens of local restaurants will craft and serve special pies and slices at special prices, offering Santa Cruz County residents and visitors a chance to taste the extraordinary artistry that goes into creating the perfect pizza.
Pizza lovers will be able to search for specials, check in, rate pizzas, post photos, collect points and win pizzas using a mobile app that can be downloaded here.

“We are thrilled to highlight the exceptional culinary talent and creativity of Santa Cruz County chefs while honoring the spirit of community,” said Good Times and Press Banner publisher Dan Pulcrano, a third-generation descendant of Naples, Italy, the birthplace of the world’s first pizzeria in 1830. “This event is the perfect way to celebrate the flavors, textures and traditions that make pizza a universal favorite.”
Participants also will be featured in the forthcoming app from Silicon Valley Pizza Week, which runs concurrently with Santa Cruz Pizza Week, giving additional regional exposure to Santa Cruz County pizzerias throughout Silicon Valley. Prizes from participating restaurants will be awarded to people who share their experiences on social media.
With plenty of options for all tastes and preferences, Santa Cruz Pizza Week promises to be a memorable experience for pizza lovers of all ages.
